This study investigates the effectiveness of incorporating Photomath, a mobile application, in enhancing independent learning and academic performance of Grade 7 students in Algebra. The research aims to explore the potential of Photomath in improving students' understanding and retention of algebraic concepts and their ability to solve problems independently. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving a quasi-experimental design and survey questionnaires. The results show that students who used Photomath significantly improved their academic performance and demonstrated increased confidence in solving algebraic problems. Moreover, the study reveals that Photomath's interactive features and step-by-step solutions facilitated independent learning and reduced reliance on teachers. The findings suggest that integrating Photomath into the algebra curriculum can be valuable in promoting autonomous learning and enhancing academic achievement in Grade 7 students.References
